Elim tenants and resident leaseholders have voted! A majority who voted said they would prefer an outdoor ball court to an indoor sports hall, so we have withdrawn the original planning application for the site and are currently in the process of revising the plans according.
Consultation on the updated landscaping plans for the Estate will take place beginning October 2021, with details to be posted here shortly. In the interim, see below for background on the alternative design ballot that was held on the Estate and the design option that was selected by a majority of the residents who voted.
Background: Alternative Design Ballot
You told us: During our initial two-year consultation on plans for your Estate, many residents told us you’d be interested in an indoor sports hall and community hub.
Since then:
- Covid-19: We understand that some people’s priorities have changed over the course of the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Alternative Design Option: We have used your comments and feedback from recent months to revisit the plans and to develop an alternative design option, which would re-provide an outdoor ball court on the Estate instead of the proposed indoor sports hall and community hub.
Make your choice:
Elim tenants and residents took part in a ballot to decide on which design option the CBS should progress
A. Continue with the current proposed scheme for your Estate – indoor sports hall, indoor community room, improved playground, and landscaping
or
B. Progress with an alternative design option – outdoor sports court, outdoor gym equipment, new playground, and landscaping
You said: 59% of residents who voted selected Option B as their preferred option.
